Este proyecto de orquesta de Toumani Diabaté -y ya únicamente eso justificaría su existencia-, transmite la imagen de una África creativa, tremendamente musical, capaz de generar arte desde el ingenio y la perseverancia, a pesar de las muchas carencias materiales. Quizá pueda contribuir a modificar esa idea de África como sinónimo de sida y pateras. Diabaté se preguntó -y quizá no estaría de más que pensáramos en ello- por qué los medios de comunicación no sacan a esos hombres blancos que viajan a África para organizar o participar en su expolio.
The present study provides an overview of the theme The Relevance of Education. It naturally starts out from the work referred to above. However, it also incorporates work of which a key element is the use of an African language as the teaching language and which has been done within the same framework, but on another theme, such as the case study of convergent pedagogy in Mali or the study on the use of the national language, and the design and production of manuals in Burundi.
